"A Living Christmas Card"
"My wife and I were at the Waitsfield Inn during the week of Christmas of 2003. The Kelleys greeted us at the Inn as if we were long lost relatives. The Inn itself provided quite a greeting. It is a very well kept 178 year-old 2-story building. Much of its original structure has been preserved. I doubt that all of the furniture is original but great care has been made to have great antique furnishings. The rooms all have names of people historically connected to the house. There is an interesting story attached to each room. Comfortable as the rooms are (and they are very comfortable), the real attractions are the Great room and the Nook, each with a fireplace. The Great room is practically a library with several books on shelves around the room. There are several antique couches strategically placed. There is also a large television on one side and a telephone. However, the greatest attribute is the Kelleys. They unobtrusively and constantly see to the needs of the guests. These needs are not confined to the Inn. They are on a first name basis with most of the proprietors and service providers. They were quick to provide a map and recommendations. Prior to Christmas, they secured a reservation at a great restaurant, which is another subject of a great review. The Kelleys have brought their combined hotel expertise to this Inn and combined it with love and warmth. Being here was like being in a warm Christmas movie—without the conflict, of course."
